Dogwood Lodge


Dogwood Lodge is a north georgia cabin rental where family and friends retreat to enjoy a quiet secluded getaway in the mountains. This fully loaded cabin has a spectacular seasonal mountain view, 4 person hot tub, high speed wireless internet, a vintage piano, wood-burning fireplace, telesccope, Nintendo Gamecube video game system, open airy living space and a fully furnished basement complete with bunk room, large Queen bedroom, full bath and pool table.

Dogwood Lodge is located just minutes from Carters Lake and the Talking Rock Creek Resort Rec Center, Pool, tennis and basketball courts and 10 minutes from the Carters Lake Marina, Dam and Rec Areas.

On the main floor, is the big cathedral ceiling open and airy living, dining and kitchen area with its great stone hearth fireplace, sunny breakfast nook and access to the rear deck. The large flat screen TV with DVD is fixed about the fireplace and the huge couch easily seats 6 or more guests comfortably. The large bathroom on this level sports a unique Bowl sink and the master bathroom is large and bright with a Queen bed, TV, stereo and plenty of storage space. The rear deck has a gas grill and seating to overlook the mountain landscape below.

In the upstairs loft overlooking the living area was designed with kids in mind. There are two convertible futons and all the linens and pillows needed for those. Also, a Nintendo Gamecube system, stereo and TV are in place for kids to play without being 'in the middle' of things downstairs. The loft has a ceiling fan and furniture to store clothing.

Downstairs in the finished lower level is the large game room with leather sofa and huge beautiful pool table. A flat screen satellite TV, and surround sound stereo system is in the game room as well. From here you can access the lower rear deck where you relax in the 4-person hot tub overlooking the mountain landscape. Down the hallway is the second Queen bedroom, full bathroom, laundry room with washer and dryer and extra linens and 3rd bedroom with two bunk beds and TV with DVD player.

Outside, roast marshmallows and hot dogs over a fire in the custom rock firepit or take a walk down the quiet mountain streets.

Dogwood Lodge is a great family getaway where the pristine quite natural world surrounds you and the feeling of city life melts away while relaxation and mental recovery set in. Only 1.25 hours away from Atlanta and only a 10 minute drive to the shores of Carters Lake, and up the street from pools and parks, Dogwood lodge is perfect for weekend getaways and holidays.

Pets allowed, no size restrictions. A pet fee is required for pets.

  Stayed 1 night in February 2009. I LOVED my stay with KZ Cabins! I for once felt like I won the lottery! Everything was so nice from the kitchen to the bathrooms! Two things I did not like is that our fridge was not working very well so our drinks did not stay cold nore the food. Second was the firewood that was left for us on the back porch was very wet and we could not take advantage of our fireplace. Other than that I really enjoyed my stay! Thank you.

It is a bit strange as we now keep the firewood on the back porch under cover so it doesn't walk off anymore but perhaps the wet weather prior to your stay moistened the wood during delivery?   Stayed 2 nights in December, 2008. Very nice and clean I really did not want to leave , but the cabin was booked for the day we left. If that was not the case I would have stayed another few days. Every thing was in great condition and working order. The surrounding community was great and every one was very friendly , felt like home. Will defiinitely stay again and would recommend it to any one who just wants to get away for the weekend.

  Stayed 3 nights in October, 2008. The cabin was gorgeous, with everything in perfect order and very clean. My friends and I surprised my husband for his 30th bday with this trip, and Andres in the front office was incredibly helpful in making sure to help me keep the secret. After we arrived we discovered that the cabin didn't have the ESPN family of channels, which was a bit of a worry since we are all college football fanatics and the lineup on Saturday was full of big games. I called Andres, thinking that we might just be out of luck, but he said not to worry, and he called the owner and was able to hook up the satellite channels that we wanted. Way above and beyond the call of duty! We had a fantastic time and didn't miss a game!

  Stayed 2 nights in October, 2008. Great view!! We couldn't have asked for better. It was a picture perfect cabin. I could have been stuck in the cabin for 2 days and been perfectly fine. Hot tub was soothing! Fire pit was a lot of fun and just sitting and enjoying the absence of city life!! When can I move? :)

  Stayed 2 nights in August, 2008. Some friends and spent a weekend here. The property is fantastic, with a decent view from the back porch. Immaculately maintained, everything was working properly, the hot tub was ready to go. There was minor trouble getting the correct access code for the gate to the community, but it was resolved over the phone with no trouble. I'd go back without hesitation.

  Stayed 8 nights in August, 2008. i have to say i really didn't want to leave. we are from fl. and to sit outside and see deers in your back yard with warm ups on in august i was in heaven. i do have to agree there needs more lighting in kitchen but the beds were very comfortable. i do have to say the blinds let the sun in the morning come through we put blankets up and did the job.i would recommend this cabin and did to friends and family. i would stay here again. thank you for a wonderful time.

  Stayed 7 nights in August, 2008. we had a very relaxed and comfortable stay at dogwood lodge it is very close to the surrounding towns where there was grocery stores and retail stores for every need. i will definitely stay with kz-cabins again. there is only one thing i think there should be a little more lighting in the kitchen area. so if u are plannng a vacation this is the place to go.

  Stayed 2 nights in January, 2008. My mini vacation was decided the last minute and was fulfilled thanks to KZ Cabins. Hi, I'm from Southern Georgia where there is NO snow ever seen. Since I'm originally from up north, New York, I grew up around a lot of snow. On the news it said snow was hitting Atlanta over the weekend, so I wanted my four children to see the snow, which they have never seen. I researched cabins online and came across a beautiful cabin and called it right away. I came across KZ Cabins who got me where I needed to be. I enjoyed my stay at Carters Lake and I would recommended that resort to any one taking a mini vacation at any time of the year.
