Natural Mountain Beauty
within the Resort
Talking Rock Creek Resort sits directly across from the Carters Lake Reservoir. The mountainous terrain of the resort provides glimpsing views of Carters Lake and the surrounding mountain ridges and valleys. A majority of resort remains undeveloped with thousands of acres of undistrubed woodlands providing seclusion and privacy to the luxury cabins that reside in the resort.
The eastern boundaries of the resort are etched by the beautiful and rocky Talking Rock Creek. Many homes and lots along the river side and the creek itself has been touted as an excellent fly-fishing river. The Trout Lodge in the southeastern section of the resort allows guests to access the creek and enjoy its bounty along with the amazing rock outcroppings that the native indians named the creek after.
Talking Rock Creek itself begins near the city of Talking Rock in Pickens County. The Creek flows 20 miles downstream then into the Carters Lake Reservoir where it merges with the Coosawattee River.
Rafting, tubing, canoeing, and fishing are popular activities on this remote creek where some rock faces reach as high as 100 feet.
Majestic mountain views are plentiful from our mountain cabin rentals and sites inside the resort. The views of surrounding valleys and ridges inspired the native american indians to name the trails and natural amenities and influenced the naming of many of the vacation homes as well.
